Professor Hannatu Sabo Ahmad is the Commissioner of Finance Jigawa State. She was appointed by His Excellency the Governor Mallam Umar A. Namadi FCA on the 12th of July, 2023 and assumed office on that day. Prof. She is the Vice Chair, Forum for States Commissioners of Finance.

Prof. Hannatu Sabo Ahmad was a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Bayero University Kano. She holds Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc) Accounting in 1992, Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1997, Master of Science (M.Sc) Accounting in 2006 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Accounting in 2012. She did her NYSC with Ministry of Finance, Audu Bako Secretariat Kano form 1992 to 1993. She joined the service of Bayero University in 1994 as a Graduate Assistant and rose through ranks to the professorship level in 2018.

She held a number of responsibilities amongst which was the Sub-Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences in 2018, and the Head, Department of Accounting in 2023. She has supervised a number of Ph.D. Accounting, M.Sc Accounting, and B.Sc Accounting graduates.

She is a fellow of the Association of the National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), a fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (CPA) and a full member of the Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria (MTMFA). Professor Hannatu Sabo Ahmad is married with children. She is an indigene of Hadejia, Jigawa State.
