Honourable Commissioner of Finance, Ogun State
OLADAPO ABDUL-RAHAMAN OKUBADEJO (Dapo) is currently the Ogun State Chief Economic Adviser and Honorable Commissioner for Finance, appointed in July and December 2019 respectively. Dapo started his professional career in 1992 at Arthur Andersen (later KPMG). In 2002, he won the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) Scholarship for a fully funded master’s degree program in the UK.
He resumed back at KPMG in 2003 and was promoted to the KPMG Partnership as an Equity Partner in 2006 and was appointed as the Head of Private Equity & Deal Advisory for West Africa and Africa in 2009 and 2012 respectively.
In 2017, he was elected to the KPMG Policy Board in Nigeria.
As the Senior Partner and Africa Head of Private Equity and Deal Advisory, Dapo led the teams providing Corporate Finance, Transaction Advisory & Corporate Restructuring advisory services across Africa.
He is an expert on International Finance, Foreign Investments, Infrastructure /Project Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), and Business Transformation. His expertise has won him many international awards and recognition including the 2018 Global Financial Advisor Award for the 2nd consecutive year by the Private Equity Africa organization.
He is an alumnus of INSEAD France, Havard Business School, USA, London Business School, UK, Gordon Institute of Business Studies South Africa and Lagos Business School Nigeria. Dapo is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Development Finance.
