Dr. Hauwa Nuru serves as the Commissioner for Finance in Kwara State, bringing over 30 years of extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on Leadership and a Master’s degree in Business Administration specializing in Banking and Finance. A distinguished professional, she is a Fellow of the Certified National Accountants (FCNA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). She is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Institute of Cost Management of Nigeria (ICMN), and the Institute of Budget Management and Administration (BMA), and holds a Yellow Belt Certification.

Dr. Nuru’s expertise spans Banking, Finance, Strategy, Treasury Management, revenue cycle management, manufacturing, and energy consulting. She has further honed her leadership skills through programs at renowned institutions such as Harvard Business School and Manchester Business School.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Nuru has held prominent positions, including serving on the boards of companies in financial services, agribusiness, manufacturing, and energy consulting. She also served as General Manager of Finance at Eko Electricity Distribution Company, where she led transformative initiatives in revenue cycle management, energy audits, and organizational restructuring. Her work is marked by a strong focus on business transformation, process optimization, and innovative financial strategies, making her a key driver of growth and efficiency in Kwara State’s financial sector.
